July 16, 2017

Let’s face it. When people join college, they feel like they’ve entered the gates of the Netherworld. There’s a loaded schedule of classes, tons of projects and homework, not to mention we need to study for exams. Naturally, students get stressed and become unhealthy. But do you know that you can avoid stress and keep healthy?

“Months are different in college, especially freshman year. Too much happens. Every freshman month equals six regular months—they’re like dog months.”  ― Rainbow Rowell

Here are tips on how to keep healthy and fit during your college days

Make the Right Food Choices

In college, the temptation to eat unhealthy foods is incredibly high. These include pizza, ice cream, sweets, and chocolate. We recommend that you limit your unhealthy food intake because it’s not good for your health.

Instead,  opt to eat healthy foods like homemade sandwiches, salads, whole grains like quinoa, and proteins to nourish your body.

Proper time Management

College students are prone to have all-nighters but avoid them as much as possible.  Mostly, students pull an all-nighter to cram the night before exams. That is poor time management.

List down all the things you need to do and categorize them according to priority. Before you know it, you’ll be finishing all the tasks that need to be done in a timely manner without stressing yourself or pulling an all-nighter.

Have a Proper Sleep

sleepSleep is vital to your physical and mental health. We recommend that you sleep for at least eight hours, the optimum duration for complete brain rest. When you sleep, your body is healing itself, restoring the optimum health of your brain to make you stronger to face another day.

Get Your Shots

No. We’re not talking about those sinful alcoholic shots. What we mean is that you should keep yourself hydrated. Try to drink a minimum of eight glasses of water every day. This is because proper hydration nourishes the body and helps in the removal of toxins.

It is also crucial to boost your immune system. Therefore, go for some vaccine shots to protect your body against communicable diseases.
