Don’t Be a Worrier, but a Warrior

Is stress your normal companion when it comes to matters related to your career? Then this article is written especially for you. It will help you realize that your worries are counterproductive. You worry because you want your job to be done in a better way, right? But that way you fail to do it better because your worries stress you out and nd we all know how paralyzing stress is. So, let’s see what you need to do to become a warrior instead of a worrier.

Don’t be passive, but proactive!

Are your worries forcing you to assume that something bad might happen?  Well, that is because you are a passive individual. Worrying is generally a common struggle for all the people since there is always something to worry about. But this feeling doesn’t have to consume you because you can always fight back. Do you know how? Well, by being proactive. This means that instead of worrying and waiting for something bad to happen, you should take some steps towards preventing bad things from happening. If you put a glass of water near the table’s edge, it is tireless to look at it and worry that it might fall and break. Simply move it somewhere where it will be secure, and your worries will be gone.

“I believe that everyone chooses how to approach life. If you’re proactive, you focus on preparing. If you’re reactive, you end up focusing on repairing.” ~ John C. Maxwell

Don’t let your fears paralyze you

When you are worried, you often let your fears paralyze you, right? Don’t let this happen. If you want to have a successful career (and even life generally), you have to be a fighter, a person who acts despite being worried. If you tend to let your fears overcome you, you will never achieve anything. Be strong enough to face your fears and overcome them. That is what successful people do.

Keep calm

People who worry much only find peace when things are going their way, but a real warrior finds peace regardless. It is the fact that life is generally unpredictable, so most of the time things will not be going the way you want them to. Is this the reason for you to be constantly worried? Well, actually, no. No one can be in constant control of their lives, so there is no need to worry. Just keep up a good work and everything will eventually click into place.

Don’t isolate yourself

Worried people tend to do this – to become isolated with their problems. This is a wrong thing to do, and it could gradually lead to some psychological problems, for example, depression. A real fighter always asks for advice from those more experienced than himself.  For instance, if you have some financial concerns, you should ask your colleagues about their experience. If you have some interpersonal dilemma, you should ask someone you trust for their opinion. You have to bear in mind that you are never alone with your problem.

You should always search for solutions

Have you ever been obsessed with your problems? This obsessing thing is like being paralyzed by your fears.  A real fighter will never let this happen. He will always be in search for the adequate solutions. For example, a worrier concerned that his boss may be ignoring him might obsess on what his boss is thinking and be anxious about the boss’ sentences and actions.  A successful employee will look for the answers by getting help to address the problem. For example, by directly asking the boss about his thoughts.

‎“Everything you could have been, all the accolades you could have won and all the achievements that have been nagging about, didn’t happen for one reason only. You procrastinated.” ~ Author unknown

You should always believe in yourself

Sometimes, we all tend to be a bit insecure, but that is a normal thing. It is not normal though when this insecurity becomes a prevailing feeling. In those moments think about some of your previous successful doings. Think about all the things you are proud of which you have achieved with your own effort. People often forget how important is to encourage themselves daily. No one is a machine, so when you face these moments of insecurity remember that someone else is probably feeling the same way you do.
