One thing both Jeffrey and Brandon had in common was their super long beards. They didn’t care much for face care or grooming their beards so they had an unkempt look about them. Jeffrey thought that if they had managed to convince Brandon to shave his beard, maybe they would want him to do the same. Was he ready to let go, though?
