Il presentatore e la producer si erano conosciuti nel 2001 sul set di Ciao Darwin, unendosi in matrimonio nel 2005 dopo un fidanzamento sotto i riflettori. Nonostante i 18 anni di differenza e le polemiche iniziali, avevano costruito una famiglia con 3 figli (Davide, Adele e Silvia), diventando una delle coppie più amate della TV.
Nel 2023, dopo 18 anni di matrimonio, hanno annunciato il divorzio con un comunicato congiunto che parlava di “percorsi diversi”. Oggi restano complici come genitori: Sonia continua la carriera in TV (GFVIP), mentre Paolo le ha dedicato l’ultima edizione de Il Senso della Vita. Una separazione all’insegna del rispetto.
