Si sono conosciute nel 2004 a un evento benefico e da quel momento non si sono più lasciate. Ellen, popolarissima conduttrice televisiva, e Portia, attrice australiana di successo, hanno costruito una relazione che ha fatto storia nell’industria dello spettacolo.
Dopo un fidanzamento di quattro anni, si sono sposate due volte: prima nel 2008 (quando i matrimoni gay erano temporaneamente legali in California) e poi definitivamente nel 2016. Oggi, a quasi vent’anni dall’incontro, continuano a essere una delle coppie più stabili di Hollywood, dividendo il loro tempo tra impegni professionali e la tenuta a Santa Barbara.
La loro unione rappresenta un simbolo di amore e perseveranza per la comunità LGBTQ+, dimostrando che i sentimenti veri superano ogni barriera.
