John Lennon ‘s Dorinish Island Sold For $40,607
With about $250 million net worth at the time of his death, the late John Lennon could afford several islands if he wanted. The singer owned the Dorinish Island located in Ireland. The island is located off the west coast of Ireland in Clew Bay. However, when John passed away, his wife decided to list it and eventually sold it for $40,607. She reportedly donated the money to an orphanage. Lennon bought the 19-acre island in 1967 for him and his family but eventually, the island became the home of a group of hippies until 1972.
