Ted Turner Sells His St. Phillips Island For Only $4.9 Million
The media mogul and philanthropist Ted Turner is also known as the man who founded CNN. Ted bought the St. Phillips Island in 1979 and he spent many happy hours there with his family. In 2017, the 79-year-old Ted decided to sell his island retreat for $4.9 million. The 4,680-acre island includes a lovely mansion and several other structures. The island is now in the hands of South Carolina and it will be open for visitors. The sale was cleared in December 2017.
