He is married to Monica Medina, co-founder of Our Daily Planet, an environmental news platform. They are both involved in politics but became each other’s college sweethearts at Georgetown University. In 2021, they will be celebrating their 42nd anniversary. They have three adult children, Hannah, Michael, and Daniel.
