Deniece Williams – 71 Years
Deniece Williams’ majestic four-octave vocal voice established her as one of the most outstanding soul singers. Despite making her recording debut in 1968, Williams didn’t really break through until the 1970s, first as a member of Stevie Wonder’s Wonderlove, then as a songwriter, and lastly as a solo artist when she released her first-ever single titled Free.
Deniece’s first single reached number one, number two, and number 25 on the UK Singles, Hot 100 charts, and Billboard Hot R&B Songs, respectively. After releasing her first single, the talented singer’s fame only grew. In fact, her second song, That’s What Friends Are For, reached No. 8 on the UK Singles list.
