BARBARA KNOX – 88
English actress Barbara Knox is famous for her long-running portrayal of Rita Tanner in Coronation Street. Knox made her stage debut at the Oldham Coliseum Theatre and had a small role as a dancer in the remake of Goodbye, Mr. Chips. She was also awarded the Member of the Order of the British Empire in the 2010 Queen’s Birthday Honours List for her services to drama.
Knox shuns publicity and is a very private person. She rarely gives interviews in public, although she has been known to give a few interviews for Coronation Street documentaries and has appeared alongside her fellow co-stars of the same show at some of the television awards shows.
