La star de 61 ans a perdu du poids très publiquement après avoir gagné des cœurs à l’émission d’ITV « I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here » en 2018. Cette émission populaire met les célébrités à l’épreuve alors qu’elles doivent vivre dans la jungle australienne avec des rations très basiques, participant à des tâches macabres pour essayer de gagner plus de nourriture. Avec ses camarades, elle a dû manger un régime de base composé de riz et de haricots, à moins qu’ils ne gagnent des gâteries et des dîners supplémentaires grâce aux défis terrifiants. Hegerty a perdu 6 kilos au cours de ses trois semaines dans la jungle, bien que des rapports suggèrent qu’elle pourrait avoir perdu jusqu’à 10 kilos au total depuis son voyage en Australie. Elle a dit qu’elle avait eu des difficultés avec le régime alimentaire restreint.
