Le rôle de Roseanne Barr dans la série « Roseanne » lui va comme un gant et elle incarnait parfaitement la mère de famille un peu ronde. Si à l’écran, elle paraissait très à l’aise dans son corps, ce n’était pas le cas dans la réalité. En effet, Roseanne Barr a toujours lutté contre le surpoids et elle usait de toutes les méthodes pour y arriver. En plus de faire un lifting, elle s’est fait poser un anneau gastrique pour réduire la taille de son estomac et minimiser la quantité de nourriture dont elle besoin en une journée. Pour son plus grand bonheur, l’actrice a perdu 36 kilos quelques mois après l’opération.
