Martin Schneider ist ein ehemaliger Fußballspieler. Im Jahr 2000 ging alles sehr schnell bei ihm. Zu schnell sogar. Der 53-Jährige wird im Februar von seiner Frau verlassen. Zwei Monate später zieht er sich einen Kreuzbandriss zu. Im Mai folgte der nächste Tiefschlag. Der Fußballer bekommt die Nachricht, dass „sein ganzes Geld weg“ sei. Anschließend wird sein Berater verhaftet. Beruflich, privat und finanziell stand Schneider vor dem Nichts. Umgerechnet verlor er eine Million Euro, die er in eine faule Immobilie in Ostdeutschland investierte. Der inzwischen wieder in sicheren finanziellen Fahrwassern befindliche Schneider hat sich trotz dieses Verlustes nicht unterkriegen lassen. Sein Vermögen beträgt rund 11 Millionen Euro.
