Shakuntala Banerjee, geboren im Jahr 1973, ist Journalistin und Reporterin für das deutsche Fernsehen. Sie wuchs als Tochter einer Deutschen und eines Inders in Rheydt auf. Schon während Ihres Studiums konnte sie erste journalistische Erfahrungen als studentische Hilfskraft bei WDR und RTL sammeln. Im Jahr 2003 kam sie zuerst als freie Mitarbeiterin zum ZDF, später war sie als Reporterin der Mainzer ZDF-Redaktion für das Magazin „Drehscheibe Deutschland“ tätig. Heute ist die Moderatorin und Journalistin stellvertretende Leiterin des ZDF-Hauptstadtstudios. Ihr Privatleben hält Banerjee lieber geheim.
