Der 53-jährigen Moderatorin gelang mit dem heute journal ab 2009 der Durchbruch und heute ist sie gar nicht mehr wegzudenken aus dem ZDF. Sicherlich denkt das auch ihr Lebenspartner Peter Arens, welcher lange Zeit Leiter der ZDF-Hauptredaktion war. Aus der gemeinsamen Ehe kamen drei Kinder auf die Welt. Drei Mädchen bereichern die Familie, Franka Hahlweg, Ella Anouk Halhweg und als Nesthäkchen Lola Hahlweg. Die kleinste ist erst 10 Jahre alt und hält Mama neben ihrer Arbeit, der Leidenschaft für Yoga und dem ein oder anderen Netflix-Abend, ganz schön auf Trab.
