Wenn man über Stars spricht, die einfach beneidenswert gut altern, landet man ziemlich schnell bei Julie Andrews aus The Sound of Music. Mit 85 wirkt die Engländerin immer noch wie jemand, der das Geheimrezept für zeitlose Eleganz kennt. Angefangen hat alles früh, mit Bühnenauftritten in Musicals wie My Fair Lady und Camelot, damals war sie noch sehr jung. Der große Filmknall kam 1964, als sie als Mary Poppins ihr Leinwanddebüt hinlegte und dafür direkt den Oscar als beste Hauptdarstellerin abräumte.
Im Jahr 2000 machte Queen Elizabeth II sie offiziell zur Dame. Aber statt sich danach gemütlich zurückzulehnen, blieb sie neugierig und aktiv. Als Synchronsprecherin war sie 2017 in Despicable Me 3 zu hören, und ein Jahr später lieh sie auch in Aquaman (2018) ihre Stimme. Kurz gesagt: Ruhestand war nie wirklich ihr Ding.
