Ihr Album Who Is Jill Scott? Words and Sounds Vol. 1 wurde ein Riesenerfolg, trotzdem fühlte sie sich alles andere als glücklich. Der Grund: Sie brachte rund 110 Kilo auf die Waage, was an ihr nagte. Erfolg auf der Bühne und Frust im eigenen Körper, diese Mischung kann zermürben.
Um sich nicht nur beruflich, sondern auch privat wohlzufühlen, zog Scott die Reißleine. Sie änderte ihre Ernährung, holte Unterstützung durch einen Personaltrainer und setzte auf Sport. Dies war kein kleiner Schritt, sondern ein echter Neustart. 2018 stand Scott auf der Live in the Moment-Tour auf der Bühne, viele warten seitdem auf musikalisches Neues als Anschluss an das Album aus 2015.
