Erin Murphy stand schon früh vor der Kamera. Wenn du alt genug bist, hast du sie ziemlich sicher als Tabitha Stephens im Kopf, das freche, magische Kind aus der Sitcom Bewitched. Sie prägte die Serie über Jahre hinweg in mehr als hundert Folgen. Ab der dritten Staffel bis zum Serienende 1972 war sie praktisch ein fester Bestandteil des Hexenchaos, das damals viele Wohnzimmer eroberte. Genau diese Rolle ist bis heute das, woran die meisten sofort denken.
Nach Bewitched war dann im Grunde Schluss mit Film und Fernsehen. Statt weiter durch Studios zu tingeln, legte sie den Fokus auf ihr Privatleben und zog sechs Kinder groß. In Interviews wirkte sie dabei immer wie jemand, der sich nicht über verpasste Rollen ärgert, sondern genau weiß, was ihr wichtig ist. Aus dem Kinderstar wurde eine entspannte, optimistische Frau, die sich nicht über Ruhm definiert.
