Marietta Slomka zählt zu den bekanntesten Gesichtern der deutschen Politikberichterstattung und prägt das heute-journal seit 2001. Sie war lange mit dem Journalisten Lang zusammen, der bei n-tv in Süddeutschland tätig ist. Ihre Ehe begann filmreif: 2004 heirateten sie am Schliersee, idyllisch fern vom Berliner Politikbetrieb. Ihr Leben verlief dann bodenständig, mit Alltag und Terminen.
Ihr gemeinsames Zuhause war in Köln, während Marietta regelmäßig nach Mainz pendelte. Nach achteinhalb Jahren trennten sie sich einvernehmlich, mit der Bitte um Privatsphäre. 2019 heiratete sie erneut, diesmal den Architekten Veauthier.
