Sandra war in den 80ern und 90ern ein Dauerbrenner im deutschen Pop mit Ohrwürmern wie “(I’ll Never Be) Maria Magdalena”. Privat lief es weniger glatt. In ihrer ersten Ehe war sie mit dem Musikproduzenten Michael Cretu, der kreativ eine große Rolle in ihrer Karriere spielte. Sie bekamen Zwillinge, doch der Alltag setzte der Beziehung zu. 2008 wurde die Trennung offiziell.
2010 heiratete sie den Manager Menges. Die Seychellen-Trauung klang nach Postkarten-Idylle, sogar Thomas Anders von “Modern Talking” war dabei. Doch als der Alltag wieder lauter wurde als die Romantik, geriet auch diese Ehe ins Wanken. 2014 wurde bekannt, dass die beiden sich getrennt hatten, leise, aber eindeutig.
