Es gab mal diesen Spruch, der überall rumging: Wenn Adele ein paar Kilo verliert, schreibt sie am Ende keine traurigen Songs mehr. Ziemlich frech, aber genau deshalb blieb er hängen. Bei 170 cm wirkt ihr heutiges Gewicht von 51 kg jedenfalls komplett anders als früher. Als sie 2020 ihr neues Ich zeigte, war sie nach rund 70 kg weniger kaum wiederzuerkennen.
Als Auslöser wird oft die Sirtfood-Diät genannt, ein Plan mit reduzierter Kalorienzufuhr und einer festen Liste ausgewählter Lebensmittel. Das Ganze läuft in Phasen und soll Schritt für Schritt zu neuen Essgewohnheiten führen. Auch wenn seit 2015 keine neuen Songs erschienen sind, verbinden viele sie immer noch mit Herzschmerz-Hymnen.
