Bessin wurde in Deutschland durch ihre Kunstfigur „Cindy aus Marzahn“ bekannt. Mit knallpinken Jogginganzug, kleiner Krone und übertriebenem, buntem Lidschatten war sie sofort wiederzuerkennen. Dieser Look war genauso Teil des Witzes wie ihre Sprüche, aus denen sie eine starke Comedy-Karriere aufbaute. Cindy war mehr als nur eine Rolle, beinahe ein Markenzeichen, das viele sofort erkannten.
Als sie plötzlich ohne Figur, Kostüm und „normal“ auftrat, waren viele baff. Jahrelang in greller Verkleidung bekannt, wirkte der Wechsel wie ein Kulturschock. Aber die Pointe war klar: Sie braucht weder Make-up noch Jogginganzug, um das Publikum zu fesseln und zum Lachen zu bringen. Cindy kehrte bald nach dem großen Abschied ins Fernsehen zurück.
