Gerade hatte Marian einen schnellen Blick auf ihre Uhr geworfen, als ihr klar wurde, dass sie kaum noch Zeit hatte, der jungen Frau zu helfen, die kurz vor der Geburt ihres Kindes stand. Ihr Tag war einfach zu vollgepackt. Es gab noch einige Einkäufe zu erledigen, und in weniger als einer halben Stunde musste sie schon in der U-Bahn sitzen. Auf keinen Fall wollte sie riskieren, den Zug zu verpassen und dann ewig auf den nächsten warten zu müssen. Selbst vor der Begegnung mit der bettelnden Frau war sie schon in Eile – jetzt lag sie noch weiter hinter dem Zeitplan.
