American philanthropist and former politician, James Earl Carter Jr., is best known for being the 39th president of America. He also served as a Georgia State senator and 76th governor in what he considers to be his home state. A member of the Democratic Party since 1976, Mr. Carter was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002 for his organization, The Carter Center.
