Omdat ze de dochter is van de iconische artiest Phil Collins en Jill Tavelman was Lily Collins al op zeer jonge leeftijd bekend met het sterrendom. Nadat haar ouders in 1996 een echtscheidingsovereenkomst bereikten, verklaarde Lily dat de aandacht van de media voor de scheiding van haar ouders en het onstabiele leven van haar vader een negatieve invloed heeft gehad op haar mentale gezondheid tijdens haar tienerjaren. Tegenwoordig is ze een prominente actrice en verscheen ze in veelgeprezen films, zoals Abduction en The Blind Side. Lily was onlangs te zien in de film Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile over het leven van seriemoordenaar Ted Bundy en zijn vriendin Elizabeth Kloepfer Kendall. Ze speelde in de film samen met Zac Efron, die een geweldige prestatie neerzette als Ted Bundy.
