Élue la plus belle Italienne de Tunis, Claudia Cardinale gagne à 17 ans un voyage à Venise pendant le festival du film. Plusieurs producteurs sont subjugués par sa beauté et veulent l’engager mais elle refuse. Elle finit par céder un an plus tard et joue dans un court-métrage. Elle devient ensuite une star mondiale en collaborant avec les plus grands réalisateurs et devient la muse de Federico Fellini.
A 80 ans passés, elle détient aujourd’hui le statut d’icône du cinéma et les réalisateurs lui offrent toujours des rôles, comme en attestent sa présence dans deux films en 2020.
