Like any great film, what made The Exorcist great was not only the hard work of the crew but also the acting prowess of Linda Blair, who played the lead role. A little background: her mother was a famous real estate agent who was also very supportive of her daughter Linda’s acting career. That support translated in a Golden Globe award for Linda, and also an Oscar nomination. Surprisingly, awards do not ensure marketability, and Linda slowly slid away from the Hollywood A-listers into the B-list, which includes all the struggling actors. She is still working; however, it is highly uncertain you would get to see her in anything notable anytime soon (at least till now she has no such roles coming up in the near future).
