Some of us harbor a dream of making it to Hollywood, but you’ll be surprised to know that after Peter Ostrum got the role of Charlie Bucket in the famous 1971 film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, he decided not to pursue a career in acting any further. The film studio behind the Chocolate Factory did offer a three-film contract to him, but he turned them all down. Why? Well, to become a veterinarian, although he may not have harbored this passion back then. He got a doctorate from Cornell in veterinary sciences and now reportedly works in the Lowville, NY area.
