E.T. was a good film not only for the makers but also for the cast, as it put them under the global spotlight. The lead child stars, Drew Barrymore and Henry Thomas, became internationally recognized and went on to carve successful careers for themselves, especially Henry Thomas, who became more famous than he could ever have imagined. Thomas has described the immense fame he has received because of E.T. as something rather unexpected, and rightfully so considering the fact that his E.T. role remains his most notable role to date among the sixty-four acting projects he has undertaken throughout his career (two of which are still under production, so this may change quite soon). He is also very passionate about music.
