Popular Hollywood Child Stars We Used to Adore – Find Out Who Grew Up To Be A Huge Success
Dana Plato
Dana Plato’s acting career started during the ’70s, when she joined the cast of the mega-popular sitcom Diff’rent Strokes, where she played Kimberly Drummond, from 1978 until 1986. During her time on the show, the young actress started battling substance abuse and alcohol addiction. Sadly, it ruined her reputation as an established actress and Plato couldn’t get any new roles. After years of struggling with the bad financial situation which was close to bankruptcy, Plato died of an overdose of a prescription drug in Oklahoma, in 1999. She was only 34.
