Kiedy Grzegorz Markowski śpiewał słowa “Za jej Poli Raksy twarz każdy by się zabić dał,” wyrażał podziw dla wyjątkowej urody tej aktorki. Pola Raksa została odkryta przez fotoreportera w barze mlecznym, co otworzyło jej drogę do aktorstwa – zadebiutowała w 1960 roku w serialu “Szatan z siódmej klasy.” Największą popularność przyniosła jej jednak rola w serialu “Czterej pancerni i pies.” W 1993 roku wystąpiła w filmie “Uprowadzenie Agaty”, po czym postanowiła wycofać się z aktorstwa i poświęcić się projektowaniu mody oraz dziennikarstwu. Wyszła za mąż tylko raz, poślubiając w 1964 roku Andrzeja Kostenko, lecz po jego zdradzie para rozwiodła się w 1970 roku. Od tamtej pory Pola Raksa nie zdecydowała się na ponowne małżeństwo.
