Peter Koelewijn, pionier van de Nederlandstalige rock-’n-roll, vond samen met zijn vrouw een thuis in het idyllische Laren. Hier kochten ze een historisch huis dat een romantische binnenplaats uit de vroege 19e eeuw herbergt. Hoewel het pand door de jaren heen diverse renovaties onderging, ademt het nog altijd de sfeer van een vervlogen tijdperk. De stalramen, het enkel glas en de klassieke schouw herinneren aan de charme van vroeger.
De woning doet bijna denken aan een lieflijke boerderij. Op zolder wist Koelewijn traditie en moderniteit te verenigen met een hedendaagse badkamer, compleet met inloopdouche. Het is een huis waarin zijn muzikale ziel voelbaar is – misschien wel de plek waar hij opnieuw inspiratie vond voor het herleven van zijn grootste successen.
