Peter Gillis, bekend van zijn ondernemerschap en televisieoptredens, besloot zijn leven een andere wending te geven door te kiezen voor een bijzonder alternatief: wonen in een camper. En niet zomaar één, maar een luxueuze Morelo Palace 90 M met een aanschafwaarde van maar liefst €395.000 – een bedrag waarmee elders een volwaardige woning gekocht kan worden. Aanvankelijk leek hij volledig in de ban van dit mobiele bestaan, maar inmiddels staat het rijdende paleis alweer te koop.
De camper biedt echter alles wat je van een moderne woning mag verwachten: vloerverwarming, een volledig uitgeruste keuken met inductiekookplaat en vaatwasser, een wasmachine en zelfs een flatscreen-tv. Het interieur ademt de sfeer van een hotelkamer met vijf sterren, ver weg van het idee van een doorsnee vakantiewagen. Gillis’ experiment met het nomadenleven blijkt kortstondig, maar de camper blijft een opvallend voorbeeld van luxe op wielen.
