In 2013, a lucky record dealer by the name of John Tefteller snatched this gem for a steep yet worthy price. The price he paid is recorded as one of the highest ever spent on a blues record. Tefteller knew it would be valuable, but he probably never imagined it would go for $37K at an online auction.
One of the things that made this record so valued is that there are only two known copies in existence and John Tefteller owns both copies. He must treat them very carefully given their incredible worth since Tommy Johnson’s incredible guitar skills have made him into a legend.
