During a time in which The Mob reigned and they were skilled in covering their tracks and getting away with wrongful deeds, the infamous Tax Scams took place. This meant that mobsters would use fake record labels as a cover. One of the bands that fell to this ruse was Stonewall.
This psychedelic rock band never reached fame. However, their only record that was printed, Stonewall, has become highly prized. The fake record label printed only a few copies and these were sold through backdoors and secrecy. Despite failing to achieve success, today, Stonewall’s record retails for up to $14K.
