Everyone knows that Tim is the son of Tug McGraw who was a famous baseball player. Tug was not the only father figure in his life because he actually had another man he looked up to. Horace Smith was his stepfather who ended up raising him when he was a child. Horace had a decent amount of earnings, thanks to his work as a truck driver and he would always bring Tim along whenever he got the chance to. His bonding time with his step-dad while in his truck became the venue for Tim to develop his interest in singing because it was during his rides with Horace that he started to belt out some country songs.
