Für die erfolgreiche Serie „Roseanne“ passte das Gewicht der Protagonistin Roseanne Barr perfekt, denn in dieser Serie spielt sie die typische liebevolle und herzige, sowie etwas übergewichtige Mutter. Doch privat wollte sie die überschüssigen Kilos endlich loswerden. Sie entschied sich für einen Magenbypass, der ihr schließlich dabei half ganze 35 Kilo abzunehmen.
Doch auch eine Magen-OP alleine ist nicht die Lösung, denn um ihr Wunschgewicht zu erreichen, musste sie auch ihre Ernährung umstellen und beginnen sich mehr zu bewegen. Außerdem ist es für sie eine Lebensumstellung für immer, um nicht wieder in alte Angewohnheiten zurückzufallen.
