Maria Kirilenko gained popularity after winning the 2002 US Open Girls’ Singles which was followed by her first WTA Tour title in 2005 after winning against Anna-Lena Grönefeld in the China Open. Maria enjoyed a fruitful career as a tennis player, as she accomplished a lot and earned herself six WTA titles and three ITF titles. In 2015, Maria reportedly married Alexei Stepanov, the head of the Committee of Public Services in Moscow at that time. Six months later, Maria had a 10-month absence from professional tennis as they found out that she was pregnant with their first child. In July 2017, Maria reportedly gave birth to their second child.
