Robert De Niro – Goodfellas
Robert De Niro gained initial plaudit playing tough-as-nails characters in ’70s films like “Mean Streets,” “The Godfather Part II,” and “Taxi Driver.” He won an Oscar for his role in the middle film and earned two more nominations for the last one and 1978’s war movie “The Dear Hunter.”
By the ’90s, he started doing more intense thrillers, and action flicks like “Heat” and “Casino.” But he indeed showed his versatility at the turn of the millennium with comedic roles in “Analyze This,” “Meet the Parents,” and “Wag the Dog.” He has since turned to more sophisticated roles in movies like “Joker,” “The Irishman,” and “The Comeback Trail” in 2020.
