Leonard Whiting – Born in 1950

Leonard Whiting’s portrayal of Romeo in Franco Zeffirelli’s 1968 adaptation of “Romeo and Juliet” remains iconic. Discovered at 12 during a performance, he secured the role of Artful Dodger in “Oliver!” on London’s West End. Leonard appeared in films like “Say Hello to Yesterday” in 1971 and portrayed Victor Frankenstein in the 1973 television movie “Frankenstein: The True Story.”

In 1976, he lent his voice to The Alan Parsons Project’s debut album, singing on “The Raven.” In 2015, Leonard reunited with Hussey for “Social Suicide,” a modern take on the classic tale. In December 2024, he paid tribute to Hussey, who passed away at 73, reflecting on their friendship.
