Shelley Fabares – Born in 1944
Shelley Fabares, a name synonymous with 1960s pop culture, first captured hearts as Mary Stone on “The Donna Reed Show.” Her portrayal of the wholesome teenager resonated with audiences. In 1962, Shelley showcased her vocal talents with the release of “Johnny Angel,” a single that soared to number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
Transitioning to the silver screen, Shelley starred alongside Elvis Presley in three films: “Girl Happy,” “Spinout,” and “Clambake,” further cementing her status in Hollywood. From 1989 to 1997, the actress endeared herself to a new generation as Christine Armstrong in the sitcom “Coach,” a performance that garnered her two Emmy nominations.
