Tim robbte praktisch durchs Unterholz, als würde der Waldboden ein Geheimnis ausspucken. Seine Augen scannten Blätter, Abdrücke, jedes winzige Detail. Mit der Taschenlampe leuchtete er in Astgabeln und verdächtige Baumhöhlen. Zentimeterweise arbeitete er sich vor, die Hände voller Erde und Harz. Jeder Hinweis könnte hier stecken.
Er fragte seine Kollegen, ob ihnen etwas Seltsames aufgefallen sei. Doch niemand hatte Verdächtiges bemerkt. Statt frustriert zu sein, wusste er, es sind oft die winzigen Details, die alles auflösen. Sein Bauchgefühl sagte ihm, er war näher dran. Also atmete er durch, schaltete die Lampe wieder an und machte weiter.
