You Won’t Believe What People Were Doing and Wearing At Burning Man

Home Run in the Desert

Only at Burning Man could someone dream up a giant pyramid made entirely from baseball bats and softballs. This creation, called Bat Country, had people climbing and hanging off it like it was a playground built for grown-ups who never gave up recess.

The mix of aluminum bats and bright softballs turned into an impressive geometric sculpture. Standing on it must have felt like balancing on the strangest home plate ever designed. With 384 bats and 130 softballs joined together, it was less about the game and more about proving that even America’s pastime can become something wild on the playa.
