You Won’t Believe What People Were Doing and Wearing At Burning Man

Sticky Mascots of the Playa

Burning Man nights are known for glowing installations, but stumbling upon giant honey bears with squeeze-bottle caps is a special kind of surreal. Earlier in the day, several Burners had jumped on them and tackled them. But now, lit up against the desert backdrop, they looked like oversized pantry mascots out to party.

Some leaned, some stood tall, and all gave the impression that even breakfast condiments wanted a piece of the playa spotlight. San Francisco artist Fnnch designed these beauties. In the middle of the desert, these honey jars prove that even everyday objects can steal the stage once they’re scaled up and dropped in the dust.
