You Won’t Believe What People Were Doing and Wearing At Burning Man

Dreads, Dust, and Dazzle

Burning Man 2016 had no shortage of characters, but this man could have stopped traffic anywhere on the playa. Between his rainbow-colored dreads piled high, oversized reflective shades, and chest covered in painted designs, he looked like a walking art piece in front of Laura Kimpton and Jeff Schomberg’s sculpture.

Even with a sandstorm rolling in, his pose screamed confidence, like the desert itself was just a backdrop for his runway. Most people would be running for cover or at least squinting, but this dude looks like he’s channeling some desert zen master energy. He’s there to remind everyone that Burning Man thrives on spectacle, both intentional and accidental.
