The desert sunrise is dramatic enough, but Johnny Crash decided to add a massive stainless-steel heart into the mix. His piece, Metaheart, stood tall with a rotating cube inside, catching the dusty light in ways that made the whole scene look half mystical, half post-apocalyptic romance movie.
The glow spilling through the frame turned it into an accidental spotlight for anyone wandering close enough. Crowds gathered even as the playa winds kicked up, drawn in like moths circling a heart-shaped flame. Whether people came for the symbolism or just for the selfie, the sculpture had no trouble stealing attention in the haze.
