Jonah Hill’s Former Malibu Colony Home Returns to Market at $12.95 Million

Jonah Hill’s former Malibu home is looking for another owner, and this time the price stands at $12.95 million. Known as Tideline, the contemporary coastal residence sits inside Malibu Colony, one of the city’s best-known guard-gated enclaves. The home combines celebrity history, serious privacy, and the relaxed indoor-outdoor setup that has long made Malibu real estate so valuable.

The three-level residence measures 3,653 square feet and has four bedrooms and four bathrooms. Built in 1980, the property now carries a crisp contemporary look, with broad glass openings and spaces designed around Southern California’s mild coastal weather. The current listing also includes a private beach key, giving the owner access to Malibu Colony’s secluded stretch of sand.

The Malibu Home is Built Around Coastal Living

Robb Report / IG / Tideline makes good use of its location without trying to compete with the Pacific Ocean.

While pocket glass doors open the main living spaces to the outdoors, soaring ceilings bring extra light into the interior. A designer kitchen anchors the open living and dining area, creating a layout that feels polished without becoming overly formal.

The outdoor setup adds much of the property’s appeal. A heated pool and spa create a private retreat behind the home, while an outdoor kitchen extends the entertaining space. Higher up, the rooftop deck offers panoramic ocean views and a fire pit, giving the house another spot for dinners, sunsets, and quiet evenings near the coast.

The primary suite gets its own collection of upscale details. It includes a private deck and fireplace, along with a large bathroom fitted with an oversized shower and soaking tub. While a private sauna adds another luxury feature, the grounds also include an ice bath for buyers who prefer a colder approach to wellness.

The house has changed visually since Jonah Hill called it home. Hill reportedly painted the exterior a dark charcoal shade during his ownership, giving the property a moodier appearance. The residence has since returned to a bright white exterior, paired with black-framed windows that sharpen its modern coastal character.

Jonah Hill Made a Quick Profit on the Malibu Property

The ownership history gives Tideline another layer of Hollywood interest. Hill bought the Malibu Colony residence in 2021 from Richard and Laurie Lynn Stark, the co-founders of luxury fashion label Chrome Hearts. Hill paid $9 million for the property, adding another high-end California home to his real estate portfolio.

The actor and filmmaker did not hold onto it for long. In December 2022, Hill sold the property to cannabis investor Hartley Wasko for $11.1 million. The deal gave Hill a $2.1 million gain over his purchase price before accounting for renovations, taxes, commissions, and other ownership expenses.

The property’s story became more complicated after that sale. In late 2025, Wasko transferred the residence to a private lender based in Boca Raton, Florida, through a deed-in-lieu of foreclosure transaction. The arrangement allowed the lender to take ownership rather than complete a traditional foreclosure process.

Tideline returned to the market in April 2026 with a $13.25 million asking price. After roughly three months without a sale, the price dropped by $300,000 in late July. That adjustment brought the asking price to its current $12.95 million, which remains well above the $11.1 million Hill received four years earlier.

Recent Memorial Adds to the Attraction

Robb Report / IG / The Malibu residence recently received attention for a reason unrelated to real estate. The property hosted a private reception following a September 2026 memorial service for actress Hayden Panettiere.

The service took place at Malibu Pacific Church, with friends, relatives, and former colleagues later gathering at the Malibu Colony residence.

Panettiere was widely known for television roles in “Heroes” and “Nashville,” along with film appearances during a career that began in childhood. Her Malibu memorial brought together people from different parts of her life and career. This adds a deeply personal chapter to a house already connected with Hollywood and fashion figures.
