Their Expenses Were ‘Reasonable’
It was in 1992 that Cobain revealed his and Courtney Love’s expenses. Their expenses accumulated to about a million dollars. Personal expenses took a chunk of $80K of their expenses, with taxes eating through $380K worth of their finances and then $300K went to the Washington home in Carnation. The rest of their funds went to their physicians and lawyers. Kurt described their expenses as ‘not very much,’ comparing them to Axl Rose’s expenses and saying they were far less. While Cobain’s success was immense and unexpected, Cobain wanted the public to know that he wasn’t indulgent like Rose.
