He Was A Swimming Instructor, Too

While it was certainly not news that things were rough for Kurt Cobain in the beginning, not having enough financially to support his dream became secondary to the reality that he didn’t have enough means to financially support himself. One of his first jobs, along with being a janitor, which we discussed earlier, was that he was a swimming instructor for the YMCA in Aberdeen. Kurt taught kids between the ages of three and seven and he charged $3.75 per hour for his lessons. It was one of his favorite jobs. Well, between washing toilets and teaching swimming, we’d pick swimming too as it provides a great exercise!
